The simple things....

Sometimes it really is the little things in life that make us most happy isn't it? Having amazing friends and family or a smile or sweet comment from a nice stranger...... Those kind of things are what makes the world go round and makes us smile.

Yes it would be lovely to have a helluva lot more money, a big house, flash new car and a wardrobe full of louboutins but really, would that make us happy? (Ok maybe I will just take the Loubouts).

Seriously though....

With all of what is going on in the world today - threats of war, rising unemployment, global warming, gang crime (I would go on but I am depressing myself I don't know about you) it is important for us to recognise sometimes that our time here is very short and what really truly makes us happy are the people we share that time with. We don't look back at old photo's and lust over the dress we are wearing then or our old hairstyles, we acknowledge where we are, what we were doing and who we are with.

That is what is important.

  1. Great post. Its so easy to get caught up in the silly things. I'm currently trying to lose some weight so feel I'm constantly thinking about it and how much I lose each week. But really, I just need to chill out and remember I have family and friends that love me regardless. So for rambling on!

  2. I couldn't agree more, i could day dreaming about winning the lottery until the cows come home (what a weird saying) but it pointless, i'm much happier focusing on getting a job i enjoy and maybe saving up for 1 pair of louboutin.

    1. I think if you saved up for a pair of shoes like louboutins or choos you would appreciate them even more because u earnt them! It would be lovely to win the lottery but I think I would have to keep active! Doing nothing would be so boring! I would rather earn money to enjoy by doing something I enjoy!

  3. I've found that the simplest thing that any of us can do is to take the opportunity for "a random act of kindness". It's sort of selfish, but you do feel great to help someone. And maybe it's because I'm in America, but everyone is always so shocked...part of the fun. : ) I'll take that over wasting money on a dress that I'll never wear.

    1. See I have found Americans to be so much more polite! Whenever I have been there... They greet you nicely and when you are served in a shop they focus on YOU. Over here they just grunt at you or talk to their mate on the other till about how WASTED they got last night...

A random act of kindness is nice and gives you a great feeling!
